1957: Born in Tokyo

1981: Graduated in Japanese Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts

1983: Completed M.A. in Japanese Painting, Graduate School of the same university (Parapsychology acquired by University Museum)

1985: Exhibited at Chicago Art Fair

1986: Completed Ph.D. in Japanese Painting, Tokyo University of the Arts; served as part-time research assistant (1986–88); exhibited at Sydney Biennale

1987: Exhibited at Yamatane Museum of Art Prize Exhibition (also 1989, 1995)

1988: New Japanese Style Painting Exhibition, Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art

1990: Contemporary Japanese Folding Screen Paintings Exhibition (Dublin City Gallery, Ireland; traveling)

1995: Awarded Goto Memorial Foundation Art Prize

1996: Overseas research in Ireland and UK (funded by Goto Cultural Foundation)

1999: Painted ceiling murals for Zojo-ji Temple, Tokyo

2001: Solo exhibition, Bunkamura Gallery, Tokyo

2007: Awarded Rinmei Kawakita Prize at Ryo-yo no Me Exhibition: Contemporary Japanese Paintings

2013: Silver Prize, 64th National Calendar Exhibition

2014: Created folding screen painting San-kyō-zu for Kabuki actor Onoe Sakon III’s succession ceremony

2019: Exhibited in Rhythm, Echo, Noise at Yokohama Museum of Art

2023: Solo exhibition at Nihombashi Mitsukoshi Main Store

Currently: lives and works in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture.
